Goring brings more than three decades of experience leading major infrastructure and transformation programmes, having held senior roles at Capita, Morgan Sindall, PA Consulting, Mott MacDonald and Systra.
He has also worked on flagship programmes including HS2 and Saudi Arabia’s NEOM development.
He joins Amey as the contractor looks to expand its consulting operation, with a remit to strengthen the front-end pipeline, support bids for major contracts and frameworks, and help open up opportunities in new sectors and international markets.
Working alongside the senior leadership team, Goring will also focus on improving collaboration across the business and strengthening long term relationships with clients, partners and suppliers.
Goring said he was joining the business at “a time of strong ambition and opportunity”.
The appointment follows a series of senior hires within Amey’s consulting division, including Gert Vermeiren as sector director for engineering and Stephen Knott as chief operations director, as the business continues to build its advisory capability alongside its core infrastructure delivery operations.
